Indulging Sin #MFRWhooks

Moses Hawke has loved Sin from the moment he laid eyes on her, but being with her cost him a good friend and valuable partnership.
Sin knows what Moses sacrificed to be with her and she’s willing to keep a few secrets of her own to maintain their peaceful existence.

Some things are not meant to be hidden and when all Sin’s transgressions become known, she’s left to wonder if Moses will still be there to protect her.

Excerpt

“Ten thousand dollars?” Moses Hawke dragged his fingers through his shoulder length hair. He resisted the urge to hurl his cellphone. This was not the news he wanted to hear from his accountant. “Explain to me how someone walks into the bank and leaves with ten grand. Of my money?”

“Well, I’m working on it.”

“I don’t want you working on it. I want it handled. There’s paperwork involved when you take out or deposit that amount of cash. I want to know who took my money. Those funds were earmarked for Saturday’s Back to the Bricks’ Slamfest. I want it back.”

“All right, Moses. I’ll wake the bank manager if I have to.”

“You’ll wake the bank president, Julius. I do a lot of business with that bank and they manage a great deal of my funds. If they can’t find who did this then tell them there are other financial institutions just begging for my business. Got that?”

Heavy breathing and faint scratching sounded through the line.

“And Julius?”

“Yes?”

“You can be replaced.” Moses pressed “End” and tossed his phone on his desk. Just what he needed, more drama. First Virgil decides to attack his tag team’s woman and now this. Speaking of which, he needed to make sure the check was ready when that heel decided to drag his sorry ass in to get his money.

He raked his fingers through his already disheveled hair and huffed. What else could go wrong? Light taps rattled the frosted glass on the office door. About time. He bent over the desk to retrieve the folder containing the check and contract for Virgil.

“C’min,” Moses called.

The knob jangled and the hinges creaked. Perfume, a subtle blend of rose and citrus caressed his senses, tightened his groan and knotted his stomach. Definitely not Virgil. High heels clicked across the threshold, followed by the soft rustle of clothing.

No. This could not be happening to him tonight. She wasn’t supposed to be here. He closed his eyes and willed his body under control, but the sweet scent of her fragrance left him a little dizzy.

Review: Seducing His Wife #MFRWhooks

Review

"I absolutely loved this book, I have a lot of books and have read a lot and every so often I take a long break after reading one before I read another but this just made me think why do I ever stop reading for a long period of time because when I do I miss out on romantic novels like this one I don't intend on going long with out reading again especially if it involve the characters from this book especially Matt he is sooooo romantic and for me it was the perfect love story for husband and wife!

I'm very happy it didn't fit the baby daddy baby momma statistics like other books it was about a successful Africa American couple who was married hit a bump in the road but let their love conquer it and I loved it especially being married it gives me hope! 🙂

Buy it and read it!!!"

Sheridan laid her needlepoint on her lap and picked up the phone on the second ring. “Hello?”

“Did I wake you?” The rich timbre of Matthew’s baritone voice sent tingles down her spine.

She wiggled her toes in excitement. He actually called. “No. I couldn’t sleep.”

“You have a moment?”

“Yeah.” She picked up her needlepoint again, cradling the phone between her shoulder and ear.

“I’m working on a presentation, and I haven’t found my attention-getter.”

“What’s it about?”

“Employee turnover.”

“Start with the amount of money a company loses each time they have to train someone who doesn’t stay for more than ninety days.”

He chuckled. “That’s not really why I called.”

“I know. You’ve had your presentation done for weeks, but I’m glad you called, anyway.”

“Really?”

She swallowed hard. She hadn’t meant to admit she was glad to hear from him, but the words had already been said, and she wasn’t prepared to lie to him. “Yes.” She cleared her throat. “I’ve made my decision.”

“Okay.”

“I’ll do what you ask on one condition.”

“I’m listening.”

“Don’t ever ask me why I left.”

He remained silent for so long she pulled the phone from her ear and checked the display screen to make sure he hadn’t disconnected the call.

“But…” He fell silent again. “Fine. I’ll agree if you share the same bed with me. We’re not doing separate rooms and all that crap.”

She almost laughed. “What is this, quid pro quo?”

“I get what I want, and you get what you want. What’s the harm in that?”

At the moment, she couldn’t see any harm. All that mattered was he not ask her again why she left. “None, I guess. What time?”

“Does tomorrow afternoon work for you?”

“All right.”

“I’ll drop the keys off at the store before I go to work. What time will you be there?”

“Any time after six. I have inventory,” she responded.

“So early? And here I am keeping you awake. I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be.” She would’ve been up anyway, and she enjoyed talking to him, despite everything. “I’ll see you in the morning. Goodnight.”

“Goodnight. Oh, and Sheridan?”

“Yes?”

“Thanks.”

The line went dead. Sheridan slowly returned the phone to the cradle and turned the ringer off. The soft smile she wore moments ago faded. She was going back home. She clasped a hand over her pounding heart. What had she agreed to? Panic seized her and shook her hard. She and Matthew would be in the same bed. Had she lost her mind? She breathed deep.

The situation wasn’t permanent. She was merely helping Carolyn so she could get Sean back as quickly as possible. The thought steadied her. And speaking of Carolyn…

Street Safe Excerpt

Those lips curved into a siren’s smile and conjured steamy weekends in bed. He shoved the coffee in Miles’ general direction and ignored his friend’s chuckle.

“May I help you?”

Decadent perfection tilted her head to the side and the tantalizing silkiness of her hair cascaded over a bare shoulder. When he met her eyes, a brownish-green, he nearly stopped breathing. Her! Only one woman he knew had hazel eyes. Surely the temptress standing before him wasn’t his very own masseuse? God, he didn’t even recognize her, all dressed up and with places to go. He drifted his gaze from head to toe. Damn, baby girl should leave her work smock at home. And now he couldn’t remember her name.

“I’m sorry I know you’re busy, but we’re having a little trouble finding our bartender.” Her sultry voice reminded him of satin sheets and candlelight. If she wanted to haunt his fantasies, then he would definitely make them a reality. What did he have to do to get her in bed?

“I’m the bartender.”

She arched a perfectly shaped brow. “For the bachelorette party?” She glanced around. “You seem pretty busy right here.”

He grinned. “I’ll get the first round started and then I’ll be at your beck and call. I’m Street, by the way.”

She lowered her lashes before meeting his gaze. “I know, although I always preferred Rue. Have you been avoiding me?”
